From the early 1960’s when Sherman Schmidt, a local Standish, MI Insurance Agent took an interest in the Arenac County Fair to now, “Safety First” has been the standard.
All of our personnel are extensively trained in-house and through third-party ride inspectors.
Experience & training combined with maintenance and daily inspections create a safe environment for your event.
Regular repair and rigid maintenance procedures are employed to maximize ride use and efficiency.
All Sunrise Side Entertainment equipment is annually inspected by the State of Michigan and carefully checked prior to each use.
Our excellent safety record is attained through an aggressive preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
Staff members attend industry safety seminars and maintain direct communication with federal regulators to get the latest information to keep our equipment safe for you and yours.
Located in Standish, MI, the Gateway to the Sunrise Side of Michigan and the first stop on the US Heritage Route
We maintain a winter quarters in Standish, MI, where annual maintenance is performed. A full service mobile maintenance shop is also available and fully stocked with tools and repair parts for on location repairs to ensure all equipment is operating safely.
All Sunrise Side Entertainment rides & equipment are annually inspected by the State of Michigan. In addition, all equipments is inspected daily by employees who are trained to participate in the daily inspection process.

Communication with ride manufacturers, the State of Michigan and federal regulators gives us the latest information we need to keep our equipment safe for employees and our patrons.
Each attraction is carefully checked prior to every use and a written report is filed documenting the inspection.
Our safety guidelines are clearly posted on safety signs, that warn riders of possible reasons why they should not ride the ride, such as height restrictions or medical reasons.
Always use safety equipment such as a seat belt, shoulder harness, lap bar or other devices when provided.
Always keep hands, arms and legs inside the ride at all times.
Always remain in the ride until it comes to a complete stop and the ride operator instructs you to exit. Always follow the instructions of the ride operator.
Read the posted rules and observe age, height and weight restrictions as they may be different for each ride.
